Ray Jones quits BASW

Ray Jones has resigned from his role as chair of the British Association of Social Workers.

The former director of adult and community services at Wiltshire Council cites a clash between himself and BASW’s chief executive Ian Johnston for the reason behind his resignation.

A statement from BASW said that it was recognised by all that the relationship between chief executive and chair should “function without difficulty”.

Jennifer Orgill will be the new chair.
