| Social workers in a US state will get better on-the-job protection thanks to new legislation. The social worker bill was passed in Kentucky following the murder of Boni Frederick, a social worker from Western Kentucky, who was fatally stabbed when taking a baby on a home visit. The bill pledges more money for more social workers and a commission to study social worker safety. I would like to see the UK government taking such notice of the risks social workers face every day of their working lives. Would you? Would similar legislation ever be possible here? | |||||
