Dedicated long-term residential care is the most effective
treatment for some severely brain damaged people, says a report out
this week.
The report, by the Nottingham Trent University, assesses the
quality of life of people with traumatic brain injury, most of whom
are young males injured in road accidents, and their carers.
Different types of residential and community-based care were
examined in the research commissioned by Headway National Head
Injuries Association, which said the number of people with this
kind of head injury was rising.
