NATIONAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK FOR OLDER PEOPLE SET TO BE UNVEILED

The government is set to announce the first national service
framework for older people at a press conference on Tuesday
    morning.

Ian Philp, national director for older people’s services, will
announce the new blueprint with health secretary Alan Milburn.

The new document is expected to clarify how intermediate care of
older people will work and how it is funded.

It will also address age discrimination against older people to
ensure they receive improved services, and stress the need to
involve older people in their own care.
