Lord Laming calls for contributions to inquiry

Organisations and individuals with opinions on the child
protection system should see the statutory inquiry into the death
of Victoria Climbie as a golden opportunity to make their voices
heard, chairperson Herbert Laming told Community Care.

Lord Laming insisted he was open to suggestions for improving
the child protection system, although he said that “on paper we
have got an incredible system that would bare comparison with any
country in the world”.

Advertisements inviting “witnesses” to come forward to offer
information on the specific case and on wider issues are soon to be
placed in the local press and in trade publications.
