The first major review of charity law in Scotland for four
hundred years is to be published this week. The independent
Scottish Charity Law Review Commission, set up in March 2000 by
deputy first minister Jim Wallace, will publish their findings for
public scrutiny. Martin Sime, chief executive of the Scottish
Council of Voluntary Organisations, said: “We look forward to
hearing the commission’s recommendations and hope or some
really radical suggestions for change.”
