A man has been charged with the murder of his six-year-old son
in Bedford.
Peter Hills, of Lancaster Road, Shortstown, Bedford, is being
held in custody in connection with the murder of his son Jason, who
died by strangulation last month. The boy was found dead at his
home by the police.
Social services had been made aware of Jason earlier this year,
although it was decided the boy was not ‘at risk.’ He
was therefore not placed on the child protection register.
Bedfordshire council’s area child protection committee has
considered the case and decided that a Part 8 review will be
undertaken, a council spokesperson said.
