Guidance for community grants launched

New guidance explaining how voluntary organisations can
encourage people to apply for up to £5,000 for community
projects, has been launched by regeneration minister Lord
Falconer.

Community groups in the most deprived areas of Britain can apply
for grants from a £50 million ‘community chest’ to
help training and IT to refugee projects.

Lord Falconer said: “I want to see the community chests
unlocking communities for a wide range of different communities
across the country.”

“Projects benefiting from the money will vary according to
people’s priorities, but most importantly the cash should
help communities join the action to revitalise their
neighbourhoods,” Falconer added.
