Voluntary organisations are to benefit from a record indirect
funding of over £300 million this year following an
announcement by minister for social justice Jackie Baillie.
The total for 2001/02 is an increase of £35 million on the
previous year. The funding is allocated through a number of public
bodies including health boards, Communities Scotland (formerly
Scottish Homes) and Scottish Enterprise. Among the services to
benefit are bodies specialising in alcohol, disability alliances,
carers and housing developments for people with disabilities.
