The number of delayed discharges in Scotland’s hospitals
is at its lowest level for two years, according to the Scottish
executive’s latest statistics.
The number of older patients ready for discharge, but still in
hospital, fell by 340 or 11 per cent to 2,798 in the year up to
October 2002.
This figure compares with levels of 2,920 last July and 3,138 in
October 2001.
