Paul Goggins, MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East, has been appointed
minister for prisons and probation at the Home Office and has also
taken on responsibility for young people.
Goggins replaces Hilary Benn, who has been promoted to minister of
state at the Department for International Development.
Goggins was previously a social worker for 15 years, working mainly
with young offenders.
