Most young people in Scotland are thriving but a significant
minority face hardship says a Scottish children’s
charity.
NCH Scotland reports that happiness among boys and girls
increased between 1994-2002. And more than nine out of 10 people in
Scotland rate the neighbourhood in which the live as very or fairly
good.
The report also shows recorded youth crime is falling –
convictions for males under 21 fell by 23 per cent and for females
by 8 per cent between 1996-2000. Less than 1 per cent of young
people are persistent offenders.
