Join Community Care in promoting a positive image
of social care in London
CARE IN THE CAPITAL WEEK
20-24th September 2004
The recruitment crisis in London is
fuelled by the negative image of social care portrayed in the
media. The focus of this year’s Care in the Capital week is
to challenge the negative stereotypes in the media and improve the
image of social care within London. We want to encourage interest
in the profession and highlight how rewarding it is to work in
social care.
We have two aims:
1. To challenge the issue of social
care’s image in the media
2. To look at how the profession can constructively influence the
media and communicate positive messages about working in social
care
We are running various activities and
producing valuable resources during the week, which will help to
achieve these aims. They include:
-
Campaign launch on the London
eye -
Media toolkits on how to promote your
services through positive communications -
Special report on the image of social
care -
High profile job shadow
-
Master class run by PR and marketing
