Core skills for children’s workforce

The Department for Education and Skills has published the second
draft of the common skills needed by the children’s
workforce.

This “common core” of skills and knowledge is
intended for anyone who works with children and young people and
will become part of initial professional training.

It covers six areas including the development of children and
young people, multi-agency working and information sharing.
