Youth green paper delayed further

The publication of the youth green paper is expected to delayed
until February and is expected to be published at the same time as
the Russell Commission’s report on youth volunteering, YMCA
England said this week, writes Amy
Taylor.

The green paper had previously been expected to be published in
December.

A YMCA England spokesperson said that the organisation expected
the results of the Russell Commission’s consultation on youth
action and engagement to either be included in proposals set out in
the youth green paper or published separately at “much the
same time”.

Susanne Rauprich, chief executive of the National Council of
Voluntary Youth Services, said that she also expected the green
paper to come out in February.

A Russell Commission spokesperson said that their report would
be a separate document and that it would be published in late
February to early March.

The Commission’s report will put forward proposals for a
new national framework to increase youth volunteering and civic
service by young people.
