GETTING TOGETHER: A GUIDE TO SETTING UP AND RUNNING A
SUPPORT GROUP

Star Rating: 3/5

This short booklet is a useful first port of call for anyone
interested in setting up a support group. It is aimed at those
caring for another person’s child – primarily
grandparents.

The booklet contains do’s and don’ts boxes, which
will serve as reminders to budding group leaders. Particularly
useful are the sections on considering the aims of the group, and
information on publicity and the media.

What I felt was missing was the use of real examples or
anecdotes from those who have set up a group. This would have
brought alive this practical guide.
