Star ratings win stay of execution

Star ratings win stay of execution The star rating system is to
receive a one-year reprieve with the Commission for Social Care
Inspection proposing to give councils an overall social care
judgement this year.

The commission was expected to agree the proposal at its board
meeting this week after concerns that scrapping star ratings this
year would be too disruptive.

Under the Children Act 2004, councils will receive an assessment
for children’s services, incorporating education and children’s
social services, and a separate assessment for adult social
care.
