Guidelines launched to measure how far disabled people are having their rights respected

Guidelines are launched today in Brussels to measure how far disabled people across Europe are having their rights respected.

The European Disability Action Mainstream Assessment Tool is designed to help policymakers identify gaps and disabled rights bodies hold them to account.

They cover engaging disabled people, access issues, resources and enforcing policy.

British charity Leonard Cheshire co-ordinated the drawing up of the guidelines, which were co-financed by the European Commission.
