Denise Platt has been appointed chair of the National AIDS Trust.
The Commission for Social Care Inspection chair oversaw the first HIV policy to be introduced by a council, when Hammersmith and Fulham’s director of social services.
She will succeed Ruth Runciman, the organisation’s chair for the past six years, who said Platt’s experience made her the ideal person to help make HIV a health and social care priority.
Tomorrow is World AIDS day.
