What is the scale of violence in social work?

According to press reports, public sector workers were the victims of almost 100,000 assaults last year.

There were 275 attacks every day on frontline staff, according to the report commissioned by the Conservatives.

1n 2000 Community Care launched a No Fear campaign for social workers to be protected against violence and a National Task Force on Violence Against Social Care Staff was set up in the Department of Health as a result.

But taking into account today’s findings, have things changed in the last seven years or are social workers still facing violence on a daily basis?
