Fostering and children’s law charities merge

Fostering charity The Adolescent and Children’s Trust (TACT) has moved into adoption and criminal justice campaigning after merging with two other charities.

The merger with Independent Adoption Services, which has a background in placing children from black and minority ethnic communities, creates a new national adoption service within TACT.

The organisation has also merged with Children Law UK, which campaigns and provides training to the children’s legal profession.

TACT chief executive Kevin Williams said: “TACT and Children Law UK working as one will hope to better represent the voice of those most marginalised, children and young people involved in the criminal justice system.”
