Leicestershire County Council has decided to engage in consultation on a proposal that six in-house residential care homes should be transferred as going concerns to one or more organisations, with a view to maintaining those homes for a specified period after transfer for use as residential care homes
for older people.
To help assess the extent of market interest in acquiring the homes on this basis, the Council intends to consult with potential service providers. This consultation will be carried out during September and October 2007, and the findings will help inform the decision (to be taken in November 2007) on whether
to proceed further. (Should the exercise so proceed, preferred bidder/s should be identified by June 2008, and transfer effected before the end of 2008.)
The Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) is assisting the Council in this project. To express an interest in acquiring one or more of the homes, please write or email Jo Kitson, at ESPO, Barnsdale Way, Grove Park, Enderby, Leicester LE19 1ES (j.kitson@espo.org)
Please quote ESPO project reference 2871 in your communication, and indicate whether you would also be prepared to participate in the preliminary consultation exercise. Expressions of interest must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 26 September 2007.
