ACT the national charity, which represents children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families, has welcomed Sonja Ezergailis as their new project manager. She will oversee the development and implementation of the children’s palliative care mapping tool, which will enable the collection of standardised data on the numbers of children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and the services available to support them.
The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA), a new body set up to help reform vetting practices in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, has announced Adrian McAllister as its first chief executive. The former acting deputy chief constable of Lancashire Police will oversee the day-to-day running of the body, which will make decisions on whether or not individuals pose a risk to children and vulnerable adults.
Daniela Rodrigues has been named by children and families charity Norwood as a dedicated transition worker to provide advice and support for 13- to 18-year-olds with disabilities and their families in Barnet thanks to funding from the north London council. Rodrigues is part of Norwood’s social work team based at the charity’s Kennedy Leigh Children & Family Centre in Hendon and is already supporting 18 families who currently use Norwood’s children’s services.
