Rutland County Council is seeking an organisation to host the Rutland Links function in accordanace with the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill 2006

Appropriately placed organisations are invited to tender for this three year contract covering the Rutland County Council local authority area. The contract is anticipated to start in the summer of 2008 and run for three years. The current available budget is £60k per annum for a three year contract period. The main requirements of the host organisation are:

To establish a RUTLAND LINk involving local people, existing voluntary/community sector and user led groups which will be able to:

  • Sustain  a visible local presence and obtain views about the needs for, and experience of, local health and social care services in Rutland

  • Promote and involve local people in the commissioning, monitoring, review and scrutiny of health and social care services and the facilitation of community consultation on service change or development.

  • Make reports on how local health and social care services could be improved to people responsible for commissioning, providing, managing or scrutinising those services

  • Specifically include minority of ‘hard to reach ‘ groups within the community

  • Have a strong commitment to securing strategic partnerships and effective working relationships with the statutory health and social care sector including the LINks within neighbouring authorities and local service providers.
