Local government unions Unison and Unite are to meet Local Government Employers about the pay dispute. The move comes after the two-day strike last month that saw 100,000s of council employees and social care employers take action. The employers said that while no more money was on the table – the existing offer is 2.45% – they were wiling to talk about other benefits such flexible working and maternity pay.
