Kirklees Council has said it will make a statement on the death of a toddler from Huddersfield at the conclusion of her mother’s trial for her murder.
Zahbeena Navsarka, 21, and Subhan Anwar, also 21, are both accused of murdering Navsarka’s two-year-old daughter, Sanam Navsarka, in May 2008. Anwer is reportedly Navsarka’s boyfriend.
They are also charged with causing or allowing the death of a child, child cruelty and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The trial was originally due to conclude at the end of this month but may last longer.
