Landswood is dedicated to surpassing expected ‘outcomes’ for young people through the application of consistent boundaries, stimulating and educating activities, a focus on emotional well being and stability inrelationships.

Using principles of Pedagogy and Kinship Care values, our mission is to provide a home that reflects a belief that ‘residential care can and will make things better for most vulnerable children looked after.’

TCS is fully committed to the challenges of supporting and enabling children and young people to reach their full potential as young adults. Our philosophy is driven and influenced by practice evidence and research promoting good outcomes from empowerment, participation and consistency for young people.

As children and young people move on from TCS, we will be proactive and appropriately supportive in transition plans to alternative placements, foster care family homes, semi or independent living.

Additional education support for young people on alternative education plans can be supported by our own qualified teacher who will be available to offer extra tuition and homework support.

We offer a unique Enhanced Family Contact service (with regular written reports) from a dedicated house next door to Landswood, The house is designed to offer families increased opportunities for contact in a neutral family setting; either independently or with support and supervision from professionals. For example, unsupervised ‘family tea-time’ or supervised overnight stay.

For young people with emotional trauma or those who require therapeutic support, TCS associates are experienced and qualified counsellorswho are available as part of any placement plan.
