The International Federation of Social Workers has named David N Jones (pictured) as its new president.
Jones, who has just finished a secondment from the Commission for Social Care Inspection to the Department of Health, will hold the post for the next four years. He will combine the role with being a part-time inspector for CSCI.
Jones, who was previously European president of IFSW, said he wanted the organisation to promote social work around the world.
In an interview with Community Care before his election, Jones also said social work was increasingly connected globally, for example through the movement of staff to different countries.
