Union calls for freedom of information in voluntary sector

Unison Scotland is calling on the Scottish executive to include
all providers of social care services in its proposed Freedom of
    Information (Scotland) Bill.

The Scottish executive’s draft bill proposed that only
public authorities providing services be under obligation to
    provide the public with information.

A Unison Scotland spokesperson said the union was concerned that
the bill did not cover the numerous voluntary agencies involved in
    the provision of social care.
