The Supporting People programme has too much focus on moving people on from their supported accommodation, Community Care Live heard.
A session on the programme run by mental health charity Rethink heard that some people with mental health problems had been so anxious about having to move out of their supported housing that they took overdoses.
It should be support services that moved on rather than people, the session was told.
