Board welcomes £21m cash injection

Youth Justice Board chairperson Lord Warner has welcomed the
promise of £21m over the next three years for youth inclusion
programmes.

Describing YIPs as being “at the heart of our prevention strategy”,
Lord Warner said: “I am pleased that the 70 YIPs are guaranteed
funding for a further three years. They continue to achieve a
remarkable success with minimal expenditure.”

The Home Office confirmed that the money from the spending review
had been allocated early to allay concerns among staff about the
uncertainty of the schemes’ funding.
