Action for Blind People has promoted MIRIAM MARTIN to be its new director of services. She was previously head of housing at the charity.

 

ANGELA SARKIS will head the YMCA when she becomes national secretary on 1 August. A former chief executive of the Church Urban Fund, Sarkis began her career in the probation service.

 

CrossReach, the Church of Scotland’s social care provider, has appointed ALAN STAFF as director of social care..

 

Windsor and Maidenhead Council has appointed JIM GOULD (left) as director of its new department of learning and care. He was previously social services director at the authority and is a former deputy director of social services at Cornwall Council.

MARK WIGGIN is to be new chief executive at Catholic Care (Diocese of Leeds). The Yorkshire charity runs projects for vulnerable children and adults. Wiggin is currently assistant director with Catholic Caring Services in Lancaster and will take up his new appointment in September. 

 

Hounslow Council in London has recruited two assistant directors to its new department of housing and community services, bringing together adult social services and housing. DUGALD MILLAR
(left) is assistant director for partnerships and commissioning and SUE WITHERSPOON (right) takes on the same role for housing and strategy services.
