Three quarters of visitors to Community Care’s website believe
social services departments should recruit from other countries,
such as South Africa.
The finding that 72 per cent of people believe it is acceptable
to recruit from countries with serious problems of their own, comes
after South Africa’s minister for social development, Dr Zola
Skweyiya, accused Britain of “robbing” his country’s social workers
(see News, 31 May, page 8).
