Tender for the provision of care and housing related support within extra care schemes

New AssetThe London Borough of Merton invites tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations currently registered with the Care Quality Commission who wish to provide services for vulnerable adults at two of the Council’s existing Extra Care Schemes. The primary purpose of the service is to:


  • Support vulnerable adults to continue living within their own homes at Extra Care Schemes within the Borough, through the provision of Domiciliary Care and Housing Related Support tasks.
  • Reduce adult isolation and enhance the health, well-being and quality of life of vulnerable adults living within the Extra Care Scheme.
  • Treat people as individuals and promote their dignity, independence, empowerment and social inclusion.

    The total contract value is approximately £2m over an initial award period of three years, with options to extend for a further two years. It is anticipated the Contract will commence in April 2010. (TUPE Regulations may apply).

    Organisations must have a minimum of 2 years Extra Care/Sheltered Housing with care experience and pass the Pre Qualifying Questionnaire stage in order to be considered for the full tender process.
