One week left to register for Community Care Live

A mock court and training on attachment are key features of Community Care Live London on 3-4 November 2015

Community Care Live London is on 3 and 4 November and is set to be the biggest event yet.

Registrations are up by 50% and social workers from more than 130 local authorities are due to attend. There are also more than 60 exhibitors including local authorities, book publishers and providers.

You can now download your pre-event guide to help you plan your essential learning and continuing professional development.

Community Care Live London 2015 offers sessions for adults’ and children’s social workers as well as managers. Hot topics include the Care Act, attachment, Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, tackling radicalisation, child sexual exploitation and managing stress and absence.

Mock court

Highlights include an in-depth training session on how to survive an Ofsted inspection and our brand new mock court where you can hone your legal skills and get top tips from barristers and judges.

For the first time, you can see a performance of Chelsea’s Choice, a hard-hitting play designed to raise awareness of tackling child sexual exploitation.

Or learn about a holistic approach to dementia from workers at Poppy Lodge, the centre featured in Channel 4’s Dementiaville, before brushing up on deprivation of liberty safeguards at our legal clinic.

Other highlights include Community Care’s very own book club, an innovative way to help your learning and development, as well as a career and learning zone with small groups run by experts to give you personalised advice and support.

One delegate, an assistant team manager in Dudley who attended Community Care Live last year, said it was “an excellent two days rejuvenating and reinvigorating with like-minded colleagues, reinforcing and revalidating my values in social work”.

A professional lead for social work in Portsmouth told us: “I got a great deal out of the two day event. I came back with lots of ideas to support my team and service users to promote practice.”

All social workers and local authorities can register for free here.
