Scotland fast tracks another 70 social work students

The Scottish executive is to fast track another 70 graduates
into social work posts to meet increasing demand.
The fast track system allows graduates to complete the social work
diploma within 15 to 18 months.
Fifty places were offered when the fast-track scheme was announced
in January. Since then more than 1,000 people applied and the
number of places has been increased to 120.
Deputy minister for education and young people Euan Robson said:
“The fast track scheme will allow us to get people trained and into
jobs quicker into the areas with the highest number of
vacancies.”
