Cameron's social work reforms

David Cameron has made reforming children's social work a defining mission of his second term as prime minister, 2015-20. The government has initiated a huge programme of change designed to raise standards of training, practice and management, and root out approaches deemed to be failing vulnerable children. Some - but by no means all - of this reforming zeal is being extended to adults' services. This page contains the latest news on the detail of the reforms, the sector's reaction to them and their prospects for success.
